National Youth
Science Initiative

A free, student-run program introducing science across disciplines through classes and outreach to students across the country.

What is NYSI?

Five days of immersive science,
one day of competition.

National Youth Science Initiative is a free, student-organized program designed to encourage middle students and rising 9th-graders to become exposed to the breadth of science. Over five days, students attend intensive classes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth & Space Science, taught by experienced high school students and guided by structured problem sets. The week culminates in a Science ARML/Bowl-style tournament on the final day (varies for each chapter)!
