Our Mission

To inspire the youth about science

NYSI exists because we believe that too often, students' first encounter with science is shaped by chance, and this narrow introduction can make science feel like a single thing, when in reality it spans dozens of disciplines, each with its own merits. Our mission is to give students around the nation the opportunity to explore that breadth of science through engaging classes and outreach.

NYSI is led by high school students who are passionate about science and want to share that passion with the next generation. Leaders have experience with: olympiads, AP/IB science classes, scientific research, Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, and more.
