How it works

Morning — Individual & Team Test: Competitors first take an individual multiple-choice section with 30 questions in 20 minutes. This is followed by a team round where 4 students collaborate to solve 5 free-response problems in 20 minutes.

Afternoon — Science Bowl: Teams of 4 compete in a bracket-style Science Bowl tournament. Matches are buzzer-based, with toss-up and bonus questions spanning all five science disciplines. Preliminary rounds seed teams, followed by double-elimination brackets in the afternoon.
